Cindy's Custom Interiors

Your Decorating Dreams Realized

Cindy's Custom Interiors is the resource in the greater Madison area for creating a new look for your home. We specialize in custom upholstery, slipcovers and window treatments; including draperies and blinds. We will work directly with you or your designer to custom fabricate just what you need to transform your house into your home. Our spacious well lit showroom will have the perfect fabric, drapery hardware and trim to complete your look.
In 1982 I wandered into an upholstery shop quite by accident. Immediately I knew I could do this, and I would love it. I wasn't wrong.  I started out working for another upholsterer and in 1986 I started doing slipcovers in my own home. 1987 found me renting a very humble shop on Terminal Drive. Eventually I purchased that shop and land. 1999 was the year I added the addition. This gave us so much more room and light to work in, and enabled expansion into window treatments and blinds.  I love the challenge and creative aspect of the drapes.   My second  favorite thing to do is button tufted furniture. My favorite thing to do is to find just the right fabric to suit  individual tastes and needs.

Toni came to us in the fall of 2013 to help out in the showroom as well as in- home consultations. Toni brings years of valuable experience with blinds and window treatments. Toni's product knowledge in the window treatment world is unsurpassed.

She can help you find just the right window covering for your situation. Please call or email today and arrange for an in-home consultation.

Tammy became an upholsterer at CCI full time starting in 2002.  She is currently transitioning into retirement with a heavy focus on grandchildren.
Happily for us, she will continue to work for one or two days a week and on special projects.

Reupholstering furniture satisfies Tammys' creative side. She loves to take a piece of furniture  right down to the frame, building up the padding and always thinking one or two steps ahead.

Ric has been doing the furniture pick ups and deliveries since 2010.
He started installing blinds and draperies at that time as well.
If he spends too much time out on an install, it is either because you have a dog for him to play with or he found a life connection. He loves to talk to people and loves it even more when he can find the life connections.

Becky started as an upholstery apprentice in the summer of 2017. She loves this industry and it fits right into her ecological and resourceful beliefs and ethics.  She is absorbing and learning everything that she can, we have no doubt that she will be a master in no time.
Lena started working here at the beginning of 2013. Lena came here from Georgia (The country not the state) and brought with her an old world style attention to detail and crafsmenship. She quickly became adept at sewing pillows, cushions, drapes  and custom crafted slipcovers. Lena loves her job and hates to go home with an unfinished project on the table
Dad (Dick Lane) comes in every day to help as needed. He will pull staples and take out the garbage. Many days he brings in one of his home made treats for us. Whether it is lefse, pickles or cookies we are always glad for them.
